OUR PURPOSE
1
Our purpose and primary objective is the preservation and historical restoration of Mission Viejo Country Club, Orange County’s only Robert Trent Jones course. We strive to maintain the strategic intent and aesthetic of RTJ’s work here at MVCC, protecting his legacy and keeping the golf course in championship condition.
Preserve & Restore
2
Celebrate MVCC History
As a complement to this historical preservation project, we are developing an educational program meant to preserve the legacy of both RTJ and MVCC by educating the course’s visitors and local residents on the historical significance and impact on its surrounding communities. The first initiative in this program was the recent unveiling of MVCC’s “History Wall” at the front of the course’s clubhouse with more to come.
3
Support Youth Golf
As part of our mission to give back and provide exceptional golf experiences to the local community, we are dedicated to supporting local high school and youth players by providing access to tournaments, practice facilities and educational experiences that help build a lifelong love of golf and an appreciation for MVCC and its history.
HOW IT WORKS
The Organization (RTJOC) will achieve its stated purpose by serving as a source of funding, via donations and fundraising, for (i) the expensive and constant upkeep required with respect to MVCC’s golf course (which will always be as consistent as possible with RTJ’s original style and design) as well as for (ii) educational programs related to the history of the RTJ golf course, and (iii) youth golf programs and related activities. Specifically, RTJOC will solicit donations primarily from MVCC members, the course’s visitors, and local residents in order to fund the RTJOC’s aforementioned purposes. Funds distributed to MVCC will be used solely for capital improvements, preservation and maintenance of this historic golf course.
“Our goal is to share what makes RTJ’s design here at MVCC so special. And then keeping it that way, by preserving the golf course for future generations.”
